Description

Set within the quiet Duha hours of Eid Al-Adha, just before the sacrifice, the scene reflects the calm spiritual atmosphere of traditional Gulf life in the 1940s. The composition explores the emotional connection between humans, animals, and nature within simple pastoral environments shaped by routine, faith, and coexistence.
The sheep and goats symbolize the essence of Eid Al-Adha and the values of mercy, care, and sustenance that surround the ritual of sacrifice. Around them, chickens, roosters, and the presence of the Arabian horse evoke the richness and diversity of everyday rural life in the Gulf during the last century. The seated man holding a misbaha (prayer beads) introduces a quiet spiritual presence, emphasizing contemplation, faith, and the calm rhythm of Eid morning before the day unfolds.
