Description

“Raqqun Munir (رقٌّ منير)”

This artwork is inspired by the Qur’an, where the phrase appears in Surat At-Tur (52:2–3):

﴾وَكِتَابٍ مَسْطُورٍ، فِي رَقٍّ مَنْشُورٍ﴿

Here, Raq (رق) refers to fine parchment on which sacred words were inscribed, while Munir (منير) means radiant or illuminated. Together, the title “Raqqun Munir” signifies a Radiant Parchment, glowing with divine light and meaning.

The script of the artwork is Ayat al-Kursi (آية الكرسي), known as the greatest verse in the Qur’an (aʿẓam āyah fī al-Qur’ān al-karīm), recited for protection, blessing, and spiritual strength. By rendering this verse in Kufic script (الخط الكوفي), one of the earliest and most dignified forms of Arabic calligraphy, the work bridges sacred tradition with contemporary artistic vision.

The use of black (أسود) recalls the ink of ancient manuscripts, symbolizing permanence and authority, while white (أبيض) conveys purity (صفاء) and divine light (نور). This contrast embodies the balance between clarity and depth, past and present.

This artwork is sold unframed. However, framing is available upon request for an additional fee.
