ESSA ALMOHANNADI is a Qatari artist who blends tradition with a modern edge, drawing inspiration from identity, culture, and the natural world. His passion for painting began in middle school and grew into a lifelong pursuit, leading him to establish his own studio where he continues to experiment and evolve.
In May 2025, he joined a course at The Art Students League of New York, one of the world’s most renowned art schools, founded in 1875 and known for shaping generations of artists. In August 2025, he showcased his work at the Taaluf International Art Exhibition in Manama, Bahrain, organized by the Bahrain Contemporary Art Association.
Working with acrylics, oil pastels, graphite, and pencils, ESSA is known for his contemporary take on Arabic calligraphy, especially the Kufic script, blending Quranic verses with abstract, modern forms. His art often features Arabian horses and vibrant flowers, symbols of strength, beauty, and transformation.
